Ganesh Mandal returns the NMC ban on idol immersion on the lake

Nagpur: Sarvajanik Ganesh Mandals has supported Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) Dictate of Blanket forbade idols on the lake.
While some mandals say that they will follow new rules, others state that NMC must make alternative arrangements on the mine left outside of the city limits.
NGOs in the welcome city moved and said it was the right time for NMC to channel its efforts to preserve the lake.

“This year we have decided to limit idol heights but we will ask permission to immerse it on Lake Futala,” he said, adding that they would ask for more choices of water bodies outside the city limits like a dam.
Budhholiya also said that their mandal would ask permission from the city police because of soaking at Lake Futala.
“If we get a nod, we will definitely immerse idols there.
But if asked, we will go for artificial tanks,” he said.
Nilesh Raut layout Bhende Ganeshotsav Mandal said the appropriate NMC decision.
“NMC and the state government have placed the limitation of altitude due to a pandemic.
So the idol will set it in an artificial pool.
However, what if there will be no limit to idol heights?” Raut said.
He suggested NMC to identify the abandoned mine (there are many) outside the city limits that can be used every year for idol immersion.
However, it is very important for NMC to make alternative arrangements, said Mands organizers.
While the decision to promote environmentally friendly dyeing is very appropriate, there is a need to ensure that idols are not damaged, they say.
Green Vigil Foundation Research Kaustav Chatterjee said that prohibiting idol immersion in all Lake conservation.
“On the one hand, the government and NMC spend so much to rejuvenate our lakes and on the other side of the residents photographed the lake by immersing idols and throwing garbage,” he said.
He demanded that idol immersion was completely prohibited not only during the dyeing ganpati but also other festivals such as Janmashtami, Durga-Gauri Varajan, Teej etc.
However, NMC needs to establish a large number of strong artificial tanks for Ganpati Visarjan, including largely determined.
