Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Monday announced the neglect of toll for private vehicles plying towards Konkan for Ganesh Chaturthi.
The neglect will be implemented two days before the 10-day festival – which falls on September 10 – and two days later.
Towards the celebration season, a meeting was held between the Public Works Department, the Department of Home and District Administration to ensure that the trip to Conkan for worshipers was smooth.
Minister of Eknath Shinde said for neglecting, motorists must register their details, in toll booths and they will issue stickers that will allow them to pass all toll booths without paying toll.
More workers must be diaularly in highway booths on different highways such as Mumbai-Pune, Mumbai-Goa, Pune-Satara, etc.
for commuter assistance.
Shinde has also asked the agent to ensure that the road repair work is completed in two days.
And emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fast response vehicles must be available if any incident occurs.
