Jaipur: They work as a gang of the Hindi Blockbuster ‘Dhoom,’ sailing around the highway, getting rid of and out of town to seize the gold chain and stay at the hotels that are comfortable before planning other theft.
The fifth accused of being arrested by Udaipur police on Tuesday grabbing chains in several cities Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
In Rajasthan, they traveled from Bhilwara to Ajmer, Udaipur, Jaipur, and in Madhya Pradesh, they robbed the chain of women in Ujjain.
Udaipur Sp Rajeev Pachar said the defendant had been involved in around 100 chain snatchings, where 27 was in Udaipur.
The defendant, was identified as Lokeshpuri Goswami (23), Prem (22), Vinod Soni (24), Deepak (20) and Mohit aka Lucky (22), was a resident of Bhilwara Regency.
“The accusation has ventured into the world of evil when they are underage children.
They sell their chains to Vinod Soni,” said Pachar, adding that Lokesh was a gang gang.
Police Rajasthan said that the five accused formed one of the most famous gajang chains of the country.
“They traveled from Bhilwara and quickly escaped after taking a golden chain from a woman,” said Pachar to Toi, adding that the gang went to far places to steal.
Police said that the defendant had perfected the art of stealing the chain and quickly disappeared from the crime scene.
Udaipur police said it had become a difficult task to track them.
“We checked more than 300 CCTVs and asked some people including those who nested in prison to get some information about the gang,” said Pachar, added that 10 Udaipur police teams tracked the hotel where the defendant lived.
Police took information from the hotel and began searching for defendants.
The defendant has maintained their criminal activities under tight wrap, so even their family members never got a smell.
Police said the defendant mainly targeted women to the morning and evening.
“All the defendants began stealing chains when they were minors.
We tried to find the number of chain jambs that they had done so far.
They also traveled very widely, as far as Ujijain in MP to seize a chain,” he said.
