Patna: Thanks to heavy rainfall in the River Basin Chambal and Ken betwa in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in the last three days, the surface of the Ganga River has increased throughout the downstream from DAAGRAJ to Kahalgaon, the source water resources department (WRD) said.
The source said it was needed 100-110 hours for Ganga water to reach Gandhi Ghat on Patna from the Prasagraj above.
In the last 24 hours, the water level rose 1.30 meters in Prayagraj and 1.50 meters in Varanasi.
Ganga water reaches Buxar from Varanasi in 30-35 hours, while it also takes the same number of hours to reach Gandhi Ghat on Patna from Buxar.
Because Ganga took water from Chambal and Ken Betwar, the surface of the Ganga water is expected to continue the trend of increasing for the next few days in Bihar.
In the past three days, Chambal Basin and Ken Betwih Rivers recorded 300mm heavy rainfall in several places, said Sumber Bihar Wrd.
At present, the intensity of rainfall in the two river basins has diminished.
Nonetheless, the Ganges river may be abundant by its downstream banks and highlight the flood situation not only in diari areas, but also in lower areas of cities such as Patna, Munger, Bhagalpur and Kahalgaon in Bihar in the next few days , Even though the water level in Ganga is 12cm below the danger level in Buxar, it is 33cm above the danger level in Digha, 23cm in Gandhi Ghat, 9cm in Hathahah, 35cm above the danger level in Munger and 44cm in Kahalgaon.
Incidentally, the surface of the water in the North and South Bihar River, which carries water to Ganga, has fallen.
There is no estimate of heavy rainfall in the North Bihar River basin both at Bihar or in Nepal until August 10.
Therefore, the increasing trend in Ganga may not take an extraordinary form worrying, said source.
Even the water level in Sripalpur and in Kinjar in Jehanabad Regency has fallen quickly, even when the river still flows on a danger.
Water discharge through Sone is also very low.
The trend falling in two rivers is due to the fact that their basin in the Jharkhand area has not received rainfall.
Similarly, the water discharge through a series of birds throughout the Kosi, and through Valmiki Nagar Barrage across nothing, has also been reduced.
On the other hand, small rivers like Bagmati, Gandak Burhi, Kamla, Mahanda and others have also flowed below the danger level.
