Prayagraj: After a dangerous rising trend, Ganga and Yamuna are now stable, bringing great assistance to the population of proagraj and administration.
Although, the two rivers flowed more than one meter above the danger sign (84.73m), but the surface of the water in both rivers became stable.
This administration hopes that water will begin to recede from Thursday and so on.
Both Ganga and Yamuna, as recorded at 8 am by the Department of Irrigation on Wednesday, far above the danger and showed an increasing trend.
The ganga water level at Phaphamau is 86.05 m (up with a speed of 1.5 cm per hour), while in Chhatnag, the water level is recorded at 85.19 m (up with a speed of 1 cm per hour).
Likewise, the surface of the Yamuna water in Nini was recorded as 85.73 m (up at 0.5 cm per hour).
The trend of ganga rise was recorded until Wednesday afternoon, after that he began to recede, even with slow speed.
This trend continues until 4pm, after that the water becomes stable.
At the same time, Yamuna, who showed an increasing trend over the past week, became stable on Wednesday night.
Water level (as recorded at 4pm) Ganga at Phaphamau was 86.03 m, and in Chhatnag, it was 85.27 m.
Yamuna water level is also stable and recorded 85.77 m.
Meanwhile, the District Administration and the NDRF team continued to provide assistance to local residents who were trapped in flood-affected areas and to those who had shifted to flood assistance camps established in various places in the city.
Along by providing food and other important items, administration also conducts Covid tests in help camps.
Although the administration claims to ensure the right cleanliness, people have complained about the same thing in several camps.
In areas affected by the flood, including Chota and Bada Bagada, Salori, Ganga Nagar and Gaus Nagar sections, district government, NDRF team, local voluntary organizations and political party leaders distributed food packages and other important items through ships and even by walking in deep water.
In most of these areas, residents have moved to the first floor and both of their homes or have locked their homes and moved to flood assistance camps.
People also experienced a relief from the rain, because the city did not receive a shower after 3pm.
During the last two days, heavy rains absorb the city of Sangam, adding to the suffering of flooded people.
However, with the water level that stabilizes at night, the administration feels relieved.
“We have a reason to believe that the flood water will begin to recede from Thursday, as upstream Yamuna and his tributary has not received heavy rain.
After Yamuna’s water level recedes, the same thing will have a positive impact on the surface of Ganga water,” said the executive engineer from Department of irrigation, Brijesh Kumar Verma.
However, according to reading, it was recorded at 6pm, the two rivers had begun to rise but with a very lean margin.
