Patna: Ganga flows above the level of danger in five places from Varanasi along the downstream on Thursday, including Digha and Gandhi Ghat on Patna.
While Ganga flows 1.06 meters above the level of danger in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh (above), the appropriate signs for Digha and Gandhi Ghat in Patna each are 1.07 meters and 1.50 meters.
In Hathahah, the river flowed 1.34 meters above the danger.
The water level in the river is 97cm above the level of danger in Kahalgaon in the Bhagalpur district in the west of Farakka, while it flows 74cm above the level of danger in Buxar in Bihar.
The only good news for people affected by flooding in the Gangetic basin is that the surface of the water in the river in Allahabad began to fall from Thursday.
