Bhubaneswar: The ambitious Meher Mherher Canal System, which is designed to provide guaranteed irrigation to around 25,600 hectares of the driest area around the bawbepur in Bargarh Regency, will operate in September 2023, said Minister of Naveen Patnik on Saturday while launching a smart distribution of health cards Under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY).
In the video message played during functions, Naveen said an important project was being developed with an estimated cost of Rs 2,090 Crore.

Like farmers, district weavers have given Sari Sambalpur who are famous for the world.
I salute the skills of farmers and bargarh weavers,” said the minister’s chief.
The irrigation project was announced by the minister’s chairman in October 2017, in front of bawbepur by-election.
After operating, it would be a source of water from the Hirakud Dam through the main canal of Bargarh and providing irrigation to the driest areas such as bawbepur, Sohela and Barpali.
Naveen, on that occasion, put the foundation stone for cancer hospitals in Bargarh, a long demand from the district.
The hospital will be developed on an RS 90 Crore investment.
He also launched several other projects worth RS 300 Crore.
Regarding the BSKY SMART card, the ministerial head said about 3.64 families Lakh would accept it.
The card will help people receive care without money without hassle in government hospitals and 200 private caternel hospitals inside and outside the country.
The minister’s chairman insists that every life is very valuable and he wants everyone, whether farmers, daily workers or pedicab pullers, to lead with dignity.
