Mumbai: Chhota Shakeel Gangster “Telephone Operator” Fahim Machmach who issued a threat of extortion in the first instruction reported dead from Covid-19 in Karachi Friday night.
The source said that Machmach (51), received with severe respiratory problems at a private hospital in Karachi a few days ago after he tested the positive Covid-19, died of organs’s failure on Friday.
The source said that he was buried in Karachi Saturday morning.
Shakeel called her family who lived in Peeru Lane at Imambara near Sir JJ’s hospital and delivered her message.
“Yes, we also have information about his death in Karachi because Covid.
We are waiting for further details,” said a senior police officer in Mumbai.
Fahim Shaikh alias Machmach was desired by police Mumbai, Delhi and Gujarat in more than two dozen cases.
The source said that even though he participated in one of the two attacks on the former Mayor of Mumbai Millind Vaidya at Mahim in 1999, he left the country and was only under the scanner for the first time in 2003 when he called a builder in South Mumbai and Abused it on behalf of Shakeel because it refused to pay.
Then when the crime branch caught four members of the Chhota Shakeel, it was revealed that Machmach had also taken part in the attack on behalf of Shakeel.
A former meeting specialist said that there was a plan to eliminate him at a meeting in 2001.
The style of the work of the victims made him get Machmach’s nickname.
After the police began to look for Machmach in the case of Vaidya, he fled to Dubai and then shifted to Karachi with Shakeel.
When Dawood expanded its business activities in the UAE, gangs need someone who can handle Mumbai and Shakeel operations that introduce Machmach who began calling Mumbai’s target.
Machmach allegedly threatened a woman activist in Mumbai but the police arrested the shooters and pamper the plan.
“Dawood and his brother Anees, Ibrahim was upset when he tried to resolve the financial dispute between two traders and it resulted in the arrest of Dawood nephew (son of Iqbal Kaskar) Mohammed Rizwan Kaskar.
He will take a flight to Dubai, when the arrest occurs.
