New Delhi: Sourav Ganguly, the Presidential Board president for cricket in India (BCCI), was confirmed on Thursday that the two match test series between India and Sri Lanka would have a pink ball test to be played in Bengaluru.
After the white ball series against West Indies concluded in Kolkata on February 20, India will entertain Sri Lanka for three T20IS and two tests scheduled to end in February and early March.
“Yes, the Pink-Ball test will occur in Bengaluru.
We haven’t decided all the places for the Sri Lankan series, but will be announced soon,” Ganguly was quoted by Sportstar.
This will be the third time India will host a pink ball test after playing against Bangladesh in Kolkata in November 2019 followed by facing England in Ahmedabad in February 2021.
The Sri Lankan test will have a new captain for India after Virat Kohli stepped down in January .
Ganguly also confirms that IPL 2022 will be held in India unless a surge in the case of Covid-19 damaging it.
“This will be held in India this year, until and except Covid-19 hit the roof.
As far as it concerns the place, we are looking for hosts matches in Maharashtra – Mumbai, and Pune.
We will receive a telephone place for the fall stage later.” He further Confirm that the challenge of the T20 women will be held this year in May.
