Ganguly should not talk about Kohli Captain’s problem: Vengsarkar

Mumbai: Former Indian captain and voter chairman Dilip Vengsarkar felt that President Board Ganguly was not right in airing his view on behalf of the national selection at Captain Captain Virat Kohli who had triggered controversy.
Towards their departure to South Africa, Virat Kohli at the media conference said that no one from the BCCI told him not to stop from the captain T20, contrary to Ganguly’s claim that he had spoken with the captain on this issue.
‘Colonel’ on his side, argues that Ganguly does not have a business to speak in this matter.
“The problem is that Ganguly does not have a business to speak on behalf of the selection committee.
He is the President of BCCI.
The problem of selection or captain, it is the chairman of the Chetan Sharma selection committee, who must speak,” Vengsarkar, a veteran of 116 tests, told PTI on Wednesday.
Previously, Ganguly, his former Indian captain stated that Kohli’s decision to not reconsider the T20 captain encouraged voters to go for Rohit as the only white ball captain because two different captains in two formats would cause “too many leadership.” “We have asked the virat not to go down as the captain of the T20 but he did not want to continue as captain.
So, voters feel that they cannot have two white ball captains in two white ball formats.
That’s too much leadership,” President BCCI has told PTI .
Vengsarkar believes that prerogative rights choose or bring down any players just rest with the selection committee.
“The captain was chosen or removed by the selection committee and it was not a ganguly jurisdiction at all,” killed former Mumbai legendary right hand mixture.
