Garbage Facility Zero-Discharge Model? Not yet

Noida: Two material recovery facilities (MRF) arranged in the city are not close to reaching the Zero-Discharge model, according to officials.
During the two facilities in sector 90 and 119, before Swachh Survekshan to come, the Noida Authority team found that the centers arranged to separate dry waste and restore metal and rubber items that can be reused from the same did not function as planning.
Officials pay attention that only metal and material can be saved in facilities while the remaining items must be abandoned as garbage.
“We are thinking about ways and methods to improve the efficiency of material recovery facilities.
Need to follow the zero-debit model and find out how to dispose of harmless dry waste and cannot be recycled,” said the Senior Project Engineer Department of Public Health, SC Mishra.
Authority has associated in a private agent for the collection of waste thresholds.
Some of the vans of garbage disposal took wet and dry waste to the location of collecting waste stipulated throughout the city in the sectors.
From the base station, wet waste was brought to a remediation location while dry waste was brought to MRF.
The idea behind establishing these centers, officials said, was making them sustainable.
“During our recent visit we found that waste spread throughout the facilities and dozens of sacks bundled with dried waste stacked on two sites,” said an official.
