Gas tankers collide, traffic survives in Maha

Thane: a collision between gas tankers and trucks causes Mumbai-Nashik Bypass Road traffic in the Thane Maharashtra district in the early hours of Tuesday, a civilian official said.
The local fire department, personnel from disaster management cells and traffic police rushed to the place and the movement of the vehicle was affected for five hours, the official said.
The incident occurred at around 3:30 a.m., when a gas tanker collided with a truck that came from the opposite direction in Mankoli, said Santosh Kadam, head of the regional disaster management cell (RDMC).
The driver of the two vehicles was injured and rushed to a local hospital, where they underwent treatment, he said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Ballasaheb Patil said the highway had been cleaned for traffic and the movement of the vehicle was restored.
