Kolkata: The price of gasoline in Kolkata continued climbing uphill even after violating Rs 100-Mark on Wednesday, it reached high highs of Rs 100.68 on Thursday after 39 Paise increased in 24 hours.
This is the 37th increase in two months and fourth in eight days of this month.
Diesel prices also increased by 15 Paise since Wednesday touched Rs 92.71 on Thursday, barely as big as the century.
Gasoline pump operators indicate prices can increase further considering the national trend.
The source in PSU oil said the price of fuel throughout India has changed more fluctuating with crude oil prices that show company trends.
During the locking Covid, when crude oil prices fell, the central and state governments have increased fuel taxes to increase income.
The central government also raised customs from both fuel.
With the increase in crude oil prices, motorists now feel the pinch.
Surajit Saha (34), a banker from Konnagar, said he rose around 80 km every day between his house and office in his bicycle and had a monthly fuel fee around Rs 3,000.
