Lucknow: After the center announced the reduction of customs in fuel, the state government on Wednesday made a decision to cut the price of further fuel, effectively making diesel and gasoline cheaper at Rs 12 per liter in the state of Thursday.
The pre-diwali announcement came as a big assistance for people with gasoline prices after touching Rs 106.96 per liter on Wednesday and Diesel at Rs 98.91 per liter.
Starting on Thursday, gasoline will be available at Rs 94.96 per liter and diesel at Rs 86.91 per liter.
Recently, Chairman of Yogi Adityanath Minister has held several meetings to discuss the possibility of reducing VAT on fuel but the discussion remains inconclusive.
Senior officials said that this problem had been considered and decided that the government would wait until the center took a call about this problem.
“The center has reduced gasoline costs by Rs 5 per liter and diesel of Rs 10 per liter.
UP has cut taxes of Rs 7 per liter on gasoline and rs 2 per liter on diesel, effectively reducing the second price of Rs 12 per liter,” said a government spokesman.
Other government officials said the decision to cut VAT on fuel was detained to the center to make a decision first.
“There is pressure on countries to reduce prices further considering the continuous increase over the past few months.
More state states tend to announce cuts for the next few days,” officially added.
