Tuticorin: The suspicious death case turned out to be a murder because the victim had deceived the defendant by disguising as a woman on Facebook, forcing him to be a homosexual relationship and threatened to share their intimate photos with his family.
The police have identified the deceased like P Murugan, 28, from Mela Eral Village in Tuticorin Regency.
Murugan, who is a class X dropout, works with his father in his field.
On September 15, his body was found in the bushes in the village underkaranthai with injury on his head.
Masarpatti police registered suspicious death cases under the part 174 CRPC and sent the body to postmortem.
The police, who examined CCTV prints from Ettayapuram, saw another man who accompanied Murugan on September 14.
Through the details of his call, the police learned that he often spoke to a man, who was identified as Murugan, 24, Dhama at Kanccheepuram.
He works in a car accessories manufacturing company.
The police said the man from Tuticorin disguised himself as a woman and made friends with Kancheepuram men on Facebook two years ago.
They started talking by telephone where the Impersonator had used the application to change his voice.
A surprise awaited Kancheepuram’s man when he met his virtual lover on the occasion of Valentine’s Day (February 14) at the Mattouthavani Bus Stand in Madurai.
As a broken argument, Kancheepuram’s man was appeased by Murugan.
The latter also convinced him to have a homosexual relationship that day and quietly click on the image.
Disgusted for the turn of the event, M Murugan left his cellphone number and got a new one, but the Impersonator managed to get it.
He then threatened Kancheepuram’s man to marry him, failed which he would share photos of their relationship with his family.
On September 14, M Murugan came to Ettayapuram to meet with the Impersonator and asked him to remove content.
They went to a lapshol to consume alcohol where the defendant scored a victim drink with poison and killed him by destroying his head with stone.
This case was changed as murder.
The defendant was produced before Judge Judicial Vilathikulam and returned.
