Chennai: General Secretary of the Ammk T V D Dhinakan on Friday asked his party officials and cadres to be prepared for local agency polls in nine districts in Tamil Nadu.
The Supreme Court recently ordered the state to conduct local agency polls in nine districts in September.
“We have not performed to the desired level in the selection of assembly recently.
Victory and defeat are part of the election politics.
Even our esteemed leaders including Anna, Mgr and Amma (J Jayalalalithaa) have faced defeat before elevating the winner,” said Dhinakan in a statement.
His statement came at the time of several senior leaders at the party, including former Minister of Palaniappan, joined DMK.
According to him, the party performed well in local agency polls held after the last parliamentary election.
“Our victory has just been postponed and no one can permanently prevent us from achieving it.
We have gathered to serve people and not here for the post and position,” said Dhinakan in a statement, while asking for cadres and officials to work hard To work hard achieved success for parties in the next local agency poll.
