Jaipur: A ministerial leader inspired by Bollywood is a rare thing.
But Chief of Minister Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot admitted that he was inspired by the film ‘Padman’ Akshay Kumar to launch an ambitious scheme of ‘sidaan’ where women in their reproductive age were given ladies free of charge.
“As you know, I don’t watch a movie, but I watched the Padman film recently to understand this problem before launching a scheme,” he said on media interactions on Monday.
Gehlot said women in the village suffered health problems because they could not maintain cleanliness during the monthly period.
He said this scheme would get a top priority under his rule.
The scheme was launched as part of the third commemoration of government congresses in the state on December 18.
This scheme is expected to cost 200 crore Hospital.
About 1.20 crore women in the age group of 10 to 45 years will be distributed free sanitation sanitary napkins in phase.
Not only will it help avoid many serious health problems to empower women.
The development of women and children and the Minister of Children’s Empowerment Mamta Bhupesh said that according to a survey conducted by his department, it was found that most diseases in women were related to cleanliness during menstruation.
