Jaipur: Chairman of the Minister of Ashok Gehlot held a discussion with AICC leaders in New Delhi on Wednesday has increased expectations of cabinet expansion that will soon occur and state political promises.
A long three-hour meeting was held at the residence of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi at night.
It was attended by the Head of the Minister of Gehlot, the Organization of the Secretary General of AICC K C C Venugopal, Secretary General of the State of Incharge Ajay Maken and Secretary General Priyanka Gandhi.
Maken said, “The meeting discussed the overall political situation in the state and map in front of the party to the retention of power in the state (in 2023).” He said a lot of clarity was achieved after the meeting.
Maken, however, avoided a direct reply to the cabinet reshuffle that said “Good news will come soon.” He said the meeting also discussed the results of Bypoll and many expansion of the expected cabinet and political appointments in detail.
According to sources, the expansion is likely to take place next week after Governor Kalaraj Mishra returns to the state after attending the governor’s conference in Delhi.
Meanwhile, Sachin Pilot said he had met Venugopal, Maken in Delhi on Wednesday and told them about the political situation in the state.
He expressed hope that a very necessary cabinet reshuffle and political appointment would soon occur.
He claimed Congress workers who worked hard hard to return the party back to power in the state must respect and recognition because there were almost two more years for the government to resolve the term.
At present, there are nine jobs to be filled in the Council of Ministers, while two more may arise if the new AICC is appointed in Gujarat and Punjab charges which are bound by the polls dropped from the Gehlot cabinet.
Minister of Medical and Health Raghu Sharma and Revenue Minister Harish Chaudhary was recently appointed as the Incharges of Pollope Bound Gujarat and Punjab.
The Gehlot government, who will complete the third year in the office in December, is under pressure to accommodate the faction led by the pilot, the former BSP legislator joins the ruling party and supports Independent MLAS.
