Prasagraj: Men have lost the number of women in the drive of Covid-19 vaccination in the city of Sangam.
Until August 9, from 13.65,169 people were vaccinated among all age groups, only 40 percent (5.49,772) were women against 59% (8,14,971) men.
This gender tilting can be associated with various reasons, including the lack of female intervention, the inability to reach their own vaccination site or lack of independent mobility, especially in rural areas and their own tillus approach.
This is when there has been a series of conscious camps and promotional drives in rural areas.
In urban bags, educated women can be seen standing in the queue alone to get Jab but the same scene is missing in rural areas.
The women’s population in the Prayagraj district stands around 49 percent of a total of 40,59,436 recipients who will be vaccinated.
Additional Head of Medical and District Immunization Officers (DIO) Dr.
Teutath Lal said, “No doubt, the percentage of women who get vaccinations is quite low compared to men.” He added that there had been a ratio of 59:40 (59 men: 40 women) on the vaccination site and a step ahead to get a shot.
Interestingly, women aged between 18 and 44 and were transferred from urban bags more enthusiastically to vaccinate compared to rustic bags and female charts over 45 years also more in the city area traveling to vaccination sites to get the first and second dose.
Instead, women in rural bags, especially over 45 lack of interest in vaccination and health officers must burn extra energy to convince them to take Jab.
The Ministry of Health statistics revealed that 426 transgender people had also taken Jab.
Health Authority has now set a target to immunize 40,59,436 recipients of all age groups.
As many as 13.65.169 Covid vaccine shots were given to the recipient of all age groups, namely, those over 18 years old, in the district until August 9 while 11.14,311 beneficiaries had taken the first dose of vaccines, a total of 2,50,858 receivers also received a dose second.
