Hubballi: The very delayed election for the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) Board has been concluded, the population of the twins now wants officials and newly chosen corators to accelerate work on various development projects.
Above the list of complaints they are the situation of empty sites, many of which have turned into a non-official dumpyard, not to mention weed proliferation in it.
As a result, these sites attract livestock, pigs and dogs, a lot to be disappointed from residents.
HDMC officials have failed to clean these sites even though the request repeatedly by occupants have increased public frustration.
Ashok Nagar Resident Ramesh Kulkarni, a retired government employee, asking corporators and officials to change their focus on various development projects, working where it has stopped because the crisis induced by Covid and the delayed election.
“The condition of several highways such as Station Road, Koppikar Road and Streets in Ditnesspeth, Belgaum Galli, Shah Bazaar, among others is sad.

Ramesh S, an activist, said that the number of pigs roamed around the streets in the area on the outskirts of Hubballi was increasing.
“Senior officials tell us that the staff are busy well with work related to Covid, or on the task of polls.
Now Covid cases have declined and the election is over, officials must begin to complete our complaints,” Ramesh said.
Commissioner HDMC Suresh Itnal said that the authorities, who have been busy upholding the lock, pressed into the duties of the polls as soon as it was.
“As a result, other regular activities are affected, including garbage collections from door to door.
We have held meetings with officials, and impressed them all the need to complete all the earliest pending jobs.
Tender invited before the selection was held, and the work order will soon be issued, “said itnal.
Recognizing the increase in the number of pigs roaming the streets of the city of Twin, the HDMC commissioner vowed to overcome the problem.
“Special drives will be launched after we discussed this issue with police officials.
We will also clean up all regions,” added itnal.
