Kalyan: A 20-year-old woman traveling by express trains was attacked sexually and more than a dozen passengers were robbed by eight gangs that went up to the Igatpuri station in Nashik on Friday night.
Five gangs have been arrested.
The robbers forced at least 15 passengers to part with cellphones and cash after threatening them.
A 21-year-old man refused to give his phone to be pushed out of the train, but when it moved slowly, only suffering minor head injuries.

After the train left Kasara, passengers realized that one of the robbers had hid in the toilet.
They associated it inside and when the train reached Kalyan, he was handed over to the train officials at the station.
In learning about sexual violence, train police officials in Kalyan contacted their colleagues at Igatpuri after that two other people were nabbed, including those who had sexual harassment of the woman.
The defendant who was arrested was identified as Arshad Shaikh (19) who lived in Malad, Prakash Pardhi aka Pakya (20), Arjun Pardeshi (20) and Kishore Sonange alias Kalu (25) – all from Igatpuri.
The details of the person captured fifth were not immediately known.
The five people who were arrested and accompanied by their feeches had been charged with rape, robbery other than other parts of the Railway Law.
