New Delhi: Delhi Government is preparing two Lab sequencing genomes at Lok Nayak Hospital and ILBS.
The laboratory, part of the preparation for the third Covid-19 wave which is possible, will function within a week, the Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Wednesday.
“We are preparing two genome sequence laboratories to learn the mutation of Coronavirus.
Previously, such samples were sent to the central government to learn.
Now, Delhi has this technique and it will be done in two Delhi government hospitals,” Jain said.
“The last wave witnessed by Delhi is from the Delta variant.
Coronavirus mutates continuously …
There are no cases of Delta-Plus variants in Delhi so far,” he added.
The number of Covid-19 cases has dropped dramatically in recent weeks and the government used the time to prepare to handle up to 37,000 cases one day.
“We are aggressively preparing a pandemic.
We have not received a notification from the center stating that there must be a certain type of preparation for the Delta-Plus variant.
Be it a variant, vaccination and using face masks is two ways to prevent infection,” Jain shows.
Although the level of participation drops at 0.12%, people should not be complacent about the behavior that matches Covid, he said.
“We still need to be vigilant and I urge everyone who comes out of the house to wear a mask.
About 75-80,000 Covid tests are being carried out every day.”
