MINNEAPOLIS: Participants of George Floyd’s household, along with many others who lost family members to police experiences, combined activists and taxpayers in Minneapolis on Sunday for a march which has been among many events planned nationwide to mark that the one time anniversary of Floyd’s passing. Even the George Floyd Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit based in Fayetteville, North Carolina, in which Floyd was bornand has been hosting a series of events at Minneapolis this weekend and early next week to honor Floyd on the anniversary. These events include both the rally and a march downtown Sunday which will be directed with Floyd’s family and several other members of victims of violence. The nonprofit was started by Floyd’s sisters in September 2020 to aid fight racial inequities in brownish and black communities within their brother’s honor. Other occasions in Minneapolis before the anniversary include an electronic”day of action” that motivates individuals to arrange remotely and 2 panels together with the households along with other activists on Monday, followed by a community festival and candlelight vigil on Tuesday. Tuesday will mark 1 year as Floyd, who had been Black, expired after former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin maintained his knee Floyd’s throat since Floyd cautioned for atmosphere. Chauvin, who’s white, has been convicted of murder and manslaughter because of Floyd’s death, which sparked worldwide protests and requires shift in policing in the usa.
