Berlin: The Minister of Health of Germany said on Thursday that he hoped for a surge in the Coronavirus case around the New Year SND would likely need a fourth vaccine shot to maintain the best immune response to Covid-19.
Health Minister Karl Lauterbach told WDR 2 public radio networks that Germany had not seen a large wave of new infections from Omicron variants such as several other European countries.
“It will change around the new year and in the first week of January,” Lauterbach said.
The government urged German to limit their contacts during the holiday period and to get vaccinations, including with booster shots if they already have their initial vaccine.

The official figures showed 70.7% of the population had received a full vaccine, while 35% had a booster.
Demonstrations for new pandemic restrictions and planned vaccine mandates have flared in Germany over the past few weeks.
Police said about 5,000 protesters gathered in the center of Munich on Wednesday, with several participants attacking officers.
