Berlin: The German government has increased Israel, Turkey and the United States to have a high risk of Covid-19, triggering a minimum quarantine requirement for five days for those who are not vaccinated, Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for infectious diseases on Friday.
Montenegro and Vietnam are also influenced by upgrades, while Portugal has been reduced to rank and no longer a high-risk area, with the exception of Lisbon and Algarve, said RKI.
Upgrades will apply on Sundays, except in the Turkish case, when it will take effect on Tuesday night considering many people in Germany with Turkish backgrounds.
Tourists from high-risk countries must enter quarantine for ten days unless they can show evidence of vaccination or recovery from Covid-19.
Self isolation can end after the first five days with negative tests.
