Berlin: A suspected German man has killed another man for sexual satisfaction and consumes the pieces of the victim’s body undergoing a trial on Tuesday in Berlin.
The 41-year-old teacher was accused of meeting his victim, a 43-year-old German mechanic, on the online dating site a few hours before the murder, the DPA German news agency reported.
None of their names are released, for privacy reasons.
The prosecutor said there was no indication that the victim agreed to be killed.
After the murder, which took place last September, the suspect was suspected of cutting the man’s body in his apartment in the Berlin-Pankow neighborhood and then spread it in a different city environment, DPA reported.
The police were looking for missing men for weeks before several bones were found in the forest in North Berlin and the alleged perpetrators were tracked by the help of sniffer dogs.
The trial at the Berlin District Court is expected to last until mid-October.
In 2006, a German court sentenced Armin Meiwes of Meiwes and disturbed peace to kill and eat a man he met online.
Meiwes is currently serving a life sentence.
In 2015, a German police officer was convicted of murder for killing a man he met in an internet chat forum intended for cannibalism.
The prosecutor said the victim fanted about eaten, but there was no evidence that the suspect actually did it.
