Berlin: Germany recommends that everyone gets the first shot from Astrazeneca Coronavirus vaccine switches to various types of vaccines for their second shot.
The aim is to increase the speed and effectiveness of vaccination as a more contagious spread of delta variants.
Health Minister Jens Spahn negotiates with his colleagues from 16 Germany on Friday, the day after the state standing committee for vaccination issued a draft recommendation.
In a statement, the committee said that “according to the results of the current study,” the immune response from astrazeneca mixture with the “very superior” mrna vaccine with two doses of astrazeneca.
It is recommended that the second dose with the MRNA vaccine – Germany used made by bionech-pfizer and moderna – given four weeks or more after the first astrazeneca shot.
It was much shorter than nine to 12 weeks, the committee recommended between two doses of astrazeneca.
The committee, known as the German acronym of Stiko, did not specify what studies were based on its conclusions.
The German disease control center notes that it is a design, and that final recommendations with more detail and sources will follow.
The researchers said that vaccines mixed chances were safe and effective, but still collecting data to ensure.
The German authorities have decided in April that under the 60s who have received the first AstraZeneca shot must be the rule of getting the second shot from the MRNA vaccine.
The decision appeared after the AstraZeneca vaccine was associated with blood clots that were very rare in younger people.
Germany recommended that under the 60s consult a doctor before taking it.
Spahn said on Friday that the MRNA vaccine was quite available to implement new recommendations quickly and it “made the astrazeneca vaccine more attractive,” with large amounts now arrived and the prospect of a much shorter wait.
He said the Head of Stiko told the ministers that the combination of Astrazeneca and Bionech “protect solely and bionech-bionech as a combination, in some cases even better.” But he also stressed that two doses of astrazeneca provide good protection.
BionTech-Pfizer has become a mainstay of German campaigns, with the second astrazeneca in terms of managed doses.
Germany wants to continue to increase the rate of vaccination campaign even when new infections have been sunk to their lowest level in a few months, pointing at the revival of the Delta variant.
The authorities believe now contribute more than half a new case, and want to ensure that people get a second vaccine shooting.
“Only multiplied protect well against Delta,” except in the case of Johnson & Johnson vaccine who was shot, Spahn said.
On Wednesday, Germany had given at least one shot to 55.1 percent of the population, and 37.3 percent was fully vaccinated.
“That’s a good figure, but it’s still not enough,” said Spahn.
Chancellor Angela Merkel, who was 66 years old, recently received a second shot from the Moderna vaccine after taking Astrazeneca’s first shot.
The spokesperson said that it was a conscious effort to encourage people not to be afraid if they were advised to get a mixture of shots.
