Berlin: The German National Disease Control Center reported a large number of new Coronavirus cases on Wednesday because one of the top victim virologists warned that other locking would be needed if vaccination did not accelerate quickly.
39,676 cases listed by Robert Koch Institute exceeded the previous daily record of 37,120 new cases reported on Friday.
The Institute said the German infection rate rose to 232.1 new cases per 100,000 population over the past seven days.
“We have a real emergency situation at this time,” Christian Drosten, Head of Virology at Charite Berlin Hospital, said the situation in many hospital intensive care units throughout the country.
“We have to do something now,” he said.
Government officials have repeatedly said they did not intend to impose the kuncian and instead appealed to the population to get vaccination.
Germany currently has a guardian of the national government after the September federal election.
The parties expected to form the next government plan to introduce this week’s law which will enable the declaration since March 2020 from the “national scope epidemic situation” will expire at the end of the month and provide a new legal framework to institutionalize the Coronavirus measurement.
Like other periods of pandemic, this country has regional rule patches.
Most places limit access to many indoor facilities and events to people who have been vaccinated against viruses, have recovered from Covid-19 or the results of the negative tests recently received – with the last category now excluded in several regions.
However, the rules are often enforced loosely.
Some hospitals said in the past few days they returned to work with their limits and had an icus so full of Covid-19 patients that they could not recognize new patients today.
The Charite Berlin Hospital said on Tuesday it had to cancel the planned operation because of the number of staff members who treated people with Covid-19.
Authorities say most of the latest patients are not vaccinated.
About 67% of the German population 83 million were fully vaccinated, according to official figures.
Unlike in several other European countries, the government has refused to make mandatory vaccines for any professional group.
“We may need to control the activity of infection again through contact steps – it is impossible, but of course,” he said.
“We are in a bad situation: we have 15 million people who can be vaccinated and should be vaccinated,” said Drosten added that at least 100,000 other people could die with Covid-19 if vaccination was not fast.
Since the start of Pandemi, 96,963 people have died of Covid-19 in Germany, according to official figures.
The state standing committee on vaccination, Stiko, published a new recommendation on Wednesday advising that everyone under the age of 30 only received a Pfizer-Bionontech vaccine.
Stiko said the recommendations are based on the latest analysis showing that rare side effects, heart and chest inflammation, observed more often in 30 vaccines made by modern than those who have a pfizer-bionech shot.
Side effects seem to be rare, and in most cases people recover without problems, the committee said.
