Berlin: A 51-year-old man has been tried in Germany to rampage vehicles that killed five people in the western city of Trier last year.
The defendant, a local population identified only as Bernd W.
Due to the German Privacy Act, was charged with five charges of murder and 18 charges of murder experiments because they were deliberately driving in pedestrians in a busy shopping area.
The investigator said he drank alcoholic drinks before the attack.
The people who died were 45-year-old dads and their 9-week-old children, and three women aged 25, 52 and 73.
Prosecutor Eric Samel said the defendant was intended to kill as many people as possible, the help of German news was reported Thursday.
DPA said that the defendant refused to testify at the beginning of the trial in the more Trier regional court.
The verdict is expected next year.
