New Delhi: Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has allowed all the official weekly markets to operate in the national capital, the AAM AADMI party government told Delhi High Court on Tuesday.
Recording its development, the court reiterated that vendors operating on the weekly market must ensure that, if not vaccinated, they get themselves in the earliest inner.
Judge Rekha Palli expressed satisfaction that the Delhi government has proposed to take RAT-PCR tests and RT-PCR in this weekly market.
The Delhi High Court noted that the Petitioner’s complaint – Saptahik Patri Bazar Association – has been borne and discarded.
The government told the court that “Delhi disaster management authority has now made a decision to allow all official weekly markets to operate in the national capital with the effect of August 9.” Before this, because of the limitation of Covid-19, it allows the weekly market to open but with only 50% vendors and one market in each city zone.
The High Court had earlier this month issued a notification to the government and asked him to respond to the associated petition that challenged the decision of the authorities to open the mall and weekly market but not weekly.
The Petitioner’s advisor said that “limiting other activities relaxed on June 13 and these traders who were included in the poorest class were suffering.” The previous high court said that street vendors would expect proactive steps to vaccinate so that the third wave of Covid-19 can be avoided and the national capital was not faced with a recent surge.
