Thane: Thane Municipal Corporation has decided to stop the salaries of all employees and contract staff who fail to take the covid-19 vaccine dose until now, Mayor Naresh Mhaske announced Monday.
Mhaske told the media that the decision was taken after a meeting together with the city commissioner and senior health officials.
“Administration will issue a notification for the effect in the following days after Thane can be the only company in the Mumbai metropolitan area, and possibly the country, to make mandatory vaccination for its employees,” he said.
“We have decided to make mandatory vaccination for permanent staff and while we are pasted earlier, others leave their salary,” Mhakse said while overcoming the media adding that the survey of civilian employees took the vaccine being compiled.
“These staff are at the forefront and must be fully vaccinated first.
We gave them enough time but now we have to act hard for their well-being and city,” he said.
Manish Joshi, Deputy Commissioner of the city, who is responsible for the Ministry of Health, said not all health care and frontline workers Thane Corporation has been fully vaccinated while some even miss the first.
“We will issue a deadline for them to take the earliest missing dose and ask them to submit evidence to the head of their department concerned after we will stop their salary,” Joshi said.
Mhaske confirmed the decision to claim the excrecion of the vaccine in Thane was not encouraging and there was a need to maximize its reach and make the city fully vaccinated.
This coercion will soon be extended to private doctors, housing communities, commercial units and even government hospitals, he said.
“We sent nearly 160 plus teams to various housing communities in nine civil administration wards to get an overview of vaccination status,” Mhaske said.
Can be recalled that several local companies throughout the country are included in Punjab, Delhi has contemplated restrictions on government staff in the past.
Closer houses, Bhiwandi-Nizampur Corporation have also issued a warning similar to the teaching staff to be invested to get their salary but immediately attract it.
Meanwhile, Stalin D activists questioned law enforcement.
“A reply to my RTI query by the state government and clarifying institutions clarifying the Jabs is not mandatory so that the civil body forces his staff to be vaccinated.
That step, if implemented, unfair,” he said, claiming he tended to pass the dose of both.
