Get Data on Hunger Death, Frame Model Schema for Kitchen Community: SC to Center

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday questioned the center not to report any death of hunger.
The court said that if it could be understood that there were no starvation deaths in this country.
The APEX court asked the government to provide the latest data on starvation and also frame the model scheme, for the state government to be applied, in the kitchen of the community to overcome hunger and malnutrition.
A bench led by the Chairman of Judge N.V.
Ramana and consists of Judge A.S.
Bopanna and Hima Kohli to the Attorney General (AG) K.
Venugopal, “The Indian government must give us data about hunger death, the latest information.
Ask your officers to give us information”.
This bench emphasizes that the central government must frame the scheme of the model for the kitchen of the community and leave it to the state government to implement it.
The top court clarified that it does not mean that the universal scheme must be framed, because there is no straitjacket formula to overcome this problem, but at least the government can frame the model scheme.
During the trial, the bench said that some of them were announced by political parties during the poll and added that it did not want to comment during the election time.
Bench asked the state government to provide data on malnutrition, starving death and other related problems, within two weeks.
AG argues that there is no state government that reported hunger, but showed a news report claiming the death of hunger in Tamil Nadu, when the doctor did not find food in the body of the 5-year-old child in post mortem.
In the center background has funded 131 welfare schemes, AG quoted scarcity of funds for the operationality of the kitchen community scheme throughout the country, to overcome hunger and malnutrition.
Venugopal said the state government must work funds for the scheme and also implement logistics.
The chairman of the judge told AG to see the problem as a human problem and engage with the central government to develop a model scheme for the kitchen of the community.
Citing AG filing on the hunger of deaths reported by countries, the bench further asks Venugopal, “Can we take that there is no starvation of death in this country?” The applicant advises Ashima Mandla urges the upper court to establish an expert committee in this regard to formulate schemes for the kitchen of the community throughout the country.
AG was sent, “We did not argue with malnutrition.
The problem is funding”.
The chairman of justice told AG that the center could explore the possibility of providing additional food granules to the state government and they could take care of logistics.
Furthermore, adding that the center can develop a model scheme after receiving data and suggestions from the state.
The upper court has scheduled a problem to hear further after three weeks.
The top court hearing the petition submitted by Anun Dhawan and others, looking for a subsidized canteen in all states and the United States to ensure food security, in the background of hamlet chaos by a pandemic.
