Rajkot: In new initiatives to encourage people to take the Covid-19 vaccine, Bhavnagar District Administration has begun distributing oil bags that can be eaten to all who take Jab in the villages.
The administration is tied with YUVA non-governmental organizations (NGOs) unstoppable for one liter bag distribution.
The government takes this initiative to consider some myths and superstitions about vaccination which results in reluctance to take Jab in many rural areas.
Bhavnagar District Development Officer (DDO), Prashant Jilova, said, “I have requested vaccination data from every taluka to find out the villages where the number is lacking and there are doubts among people.
NGOs provide one-liter oil bag in the village Such villages to attract people for vaccinations.
“According to officials, NGOs agreed to provide one edible bag that was eaten where 10,000 had been distributed in Sihor Taluka Village in the first phase.
In rural areas, two lakh doses have been managed in the last two weeks and 68% of the population have been saved to date.
In city corporate areas, around 84% of the population have been given one of two doses.
