Bhubaneswar: Head of Minister of Naveen Patnaik on Friday asked officials to be in a state of readiness for the possibility of the third wave of Covid towards the end of August.
Naveen also requested a more stringent covid law enforcement considering the relatively high level of infection in certain districts.
Ginger out of a review of the Covid situation through video conferencing, Naveen said, “Although there are overall events in the test level of test (TPR), the situation of infection in some districts has not increased.
We must remain alert instead of being complacent.” Naveen asked the officers to enforce Covid norms are strict and stop people from density.
The direction of the minister’s chairman for more stringent enforcement comes in the midst of poor compliance, especially in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack where roads and markets are crowded, only a few wear masks and people freely move to night at 14 : 00 to 6 NS.
Incidentally, Khurda and Cuttack are the only two districts in the red zone with active cases each more than 2,500.
Khurda has 4,574 and the cuttack has 2,683 positive cases active.
