Panaji: On a big jolt for Goa Forward Party (GFP), his president who works Kiran Kandolkar suddenly put his letters and joined the All Indian Trinamool Congress (TMC) party on Saturday.
Kandolkar, who joined TMC with his wife Kavita, said he would oppose the assembly selection of 2022 from Aldona while his wife would compete from Tivim.
Kandolkar told reporters that Congress’s doubts and delay tactics forced him to leave the GFP and join the Mamata Banerjee-LED party.
Moved by the election observer Senior Congress P Chidambaram for the door-to-door campaign in the constituency of Aldona seems to be the last straw for Kandolkar.
“Over the past few months, talks about alliances with the congress have been lit, but according to my information, Congress is not ready to let me oppose the seat of Aldona,” Kandolkar said.
“It’s not serious about defeating BJP, which is why it doesn’t declare his candidate or decide the alliance.” Spilling more thoughts behind his decision, former Tivim MLA said the poll strategy prepared by the Indian Political Action Committee Prashant Kishor (IPAC) convinced him that TMC would form the next government in Goa.
In October, Kandolkar had triggered all BJP rankings after he said Goa needed to bring “Durga” from West Bengal to eliminate the BJP government of “Bhasmasur” from the country.
Kandolkar, who is the former BJP MLA, said at least two BJP MLA and 40 GFP’s office carriers were related to him.
He also said that many former BJP parliamentarians were annoyed by the functioning of the Safron Party, could join TMC in the coming days.
Kandolkar’s children also joined TMC along with Sarpanchs of Tivim, Assonora, Revora and Nadora.
“I have decided to leave the GFP, but I want to say that I will not leave because of Vijai Sardesai, but because I did not trust the congresses and promises of their alliances.
Congress loses for declaring his candidate very late and the person does not get time to campaign.
My work experience with Vijai Sardesai is good, but I feel that Congress will betray him, “said Kandolkar.
Previously on that day, the former Congress of Secretary General of North Goa Regency Shankar Phadte joined TMC along with the leadership of the Porvorim Party unit block level, which included 10 executive members.
Kandolkar and Phadte were appointed in the party before the National Vice President of AITC Luizinho Faleiro and Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra.
Both of them say that TMC is the only party that can take BJP in Goa and in the middle.
