GGM: Covid 3 death since Nov, all 70+ & fully vaxxed

Gurugram: A 73-year-old woman admitted to a private hospital with Covid died on Monday, the first fatality associated with infection in this city this month and the third since November.
The doctor said the woman, who came from Manesar, had taken a vaccine photo – the second dose of Covaxin about four months ago – but has comorbidity such as hypertension and interstitial lung disease.
Three Covid’s related deaths in the past month have in common – the three patients aged over 70, have comorbidities and have taken both vaccine doses.
The last death was reported in the city on November 18 and 14.
Officials said the population of Manesar was tested positive Covid on December 2 and was hospitalized by his family after he developed respiratory problems.
But all the contacts are tested negative.
The doctor at a private hospital said the woman was treated with high fever, coughing and respiratory pressure.
He was originally given fluid IV and remdesivir and in oxygen support.
One dose of Toclilizumab was given to him before he shifted to the ICU.
There, he was intubated and stored on mechanical ventilators and inotropic support.
The woman suffered a heart attack on Monday.
He was given CPR, but could not be revived, the doctors said.
“He has taken the second dose of Covaxin on August 1.
There is no positive-tested contact, but he has fever and cough.
He might have contracted Covid from several family members because they had gone to work,” said a doctor.
On November 18, a 75-year-old woman claimed to be a private hospital in the city with Covid died.
He had also been fully vaccinated and took Jab Covishield both about three months earlier.
He has comorbidity such as asthma, diabetes and hypertension.
Four days in front of him, a 71-year-old man from Sector 56 died of Covid at the city hospital.
He has taken second doses five months before and suffered hypertension and coronary arterial disease as well.
He signed Covid on November 3 from his family members, who recovered at home.
Although Covid crashed into the city in March last year, the first death associated with infection was reported only in May – four people had died that month.
However, the highest number of deaths was at the second wave height in May this year, when 343 Covid patients died.
The previous month, there were 112 deaths.
As of September and October this year, when cases declined significantly, Gurugram did not report Covid’s death.
A total of 926 people have died after testing positive so far, including 610 have comorbidity – 267 suffer from diabetes, 146 has hypertension, 85 has kidney disease and 112 chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Virender Yadav, chief medical officer Gurugram, warned people with comorbidity against stepping out.
“Even those who are fully vaccinated must follow all Covid protocols.
If their family members step out, they must definitely wear masks and clean themselves,” he added.
