Gurugram: Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) works on plans to form ‘sensor-based parking management and guidance systems’ to facilitate misery of parking in the city.
Authority is currently looking for places where such plans can be adopted, GMDA officials said on Saturday.
According to officials, the system will be adopted based on public-private partnerships (PPP), along the lines that have been applied in Lucknow and in pipes for Bareilly.
GMDA also explores the possibility of preparing an electric vehicle charging station.
“This is a smart parking concept using sensors, where the entire parking system will be connected to the integrated command and control of the GMDA Gurugram ‘, “a senior official from GMDA to Ti.
“We also explore the possibility of including electric vehicle charging stations.
Until now, we still discuss this plan and hope to immediately adopt.
We believe smart parking is one way to solve haphazard parking problems in the city,” the official said.
Although GMDA initially considered adopting a system in three locations – udyog vihar, aware of the bazaar, and near Rajiv Chowk, several busiest places in the city – found on further examination that parking in this area “is not feasible”, officials said.
This is because parking management has been carried out by Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation at Udyog Vihar, and by Corporation Municipal Gurgaon in conscious Bazar.
Meanwhile, the land available near Rajiv Chowk does not belong to GMDA, officials said.
The lack of designated parking spaces in Gurgaon has become a constant problem for passengers and occupants for several years.
In the absence of enough limited parking spots, people tend to park their vehicles on the main road or roadside.
