Ahmedabad: Six days of ater elderly pair found with their throat gap at their ghatlodia house, city police and crime branch struggling to find brutal murder motives.
Until now, the police had just managed to hold five suspects, all of Jharkhand, who lived in several slums near the couple’s house, but police personnel were in Tizzy because they did not know the murder motives.
On the night of Dhanteras, November 2, Couples – Dayanand Shanbuag (90) and his wife Vijyalakshmi Shanbaugh (80) – found killed at their third floor residence in Flat Parasmani.
Their throat gap and apparently from the crime scene that they couldn’t even move when the killers, maybe two, attacked them.
The police also noted that there were no signs of resistance at the crime scene.
Vijyalyakshmi’s body was found sitting in a chair while Dairanand lay dead on the bed.
“We have arrested five people on the basis of suspicion and we have questioned them about the incident.
We are still not close to the conclusion in this case,” said a city crime branch officer.
Other city police officials said they had continued to take suspects in this case but could not identify the defendant to desire real evidence.
“One of the five suspects even claimed to have killed the couple during the robbery.
But the valuables at home, including jewelry, the police did not consider him a police motive,” said a police officer.
This case became more complicated because the police did not find eyewitnesses despite increasing movements outside the building.
Also there is no CCTV camera in the building that can catch the killer.
The only thing obtained by the police so far is a murder weapon, a vegetable knife found in the crime scene.
