Hyderabad: With more than 12,000 pending courts, The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has staggered in litigation over the past few years.
According to official data, the majority of them (8,424) were waiting in the High Court, 3,317 of them were waiting in the City Civil Court, 317 cases were delayed in Lokayukta, 121 under the HRC, 21 under the Supreme Court and 21 others at NGT.
From land disputes and piles for cost disputes, civil body struggles to complete work around them.
The review meeting led by Commissioner GHMC DS Lokesh Kumar was held recently and noticed that the waiter was to be submitted in some of these cases.
The source said that some development work had been stopped because the order was filed by the court a few years ago.
“Some of them are delayed for 25 years or more.
Many of them are related to government land encroachment and have been expelled, they will risk their claims on the ground,” said a senior official.
The second highest litigation associated with GHMC includes a trade license dispute and the rate of density among these cases has resulted in severe losses to FECEQUER.
The GHMC commissioner, after reviewing cases, ensuring that the counter was submitted in more than 5,000 cases.
Farewell wise data shows that most cases are associated with the city planning department, followed by health & sanitation, engineering, advertising, income and wings of land acquisition.
A large number of insults on court cases were also delayed and GHMC was responsible for delays because they failed to submit a counter for years now.
Officials said that there was a lawyer who debated these cases on behalf of GHMC and paid 15,000 per month and 5,000 per case for a high court lawyer.
When it comes to the Supreme Court case, lawyers charge their own fees.
However, GHMC is now interested in emptying fixed orders in various land acquisition and other property disputes to complete a long-delayed project.
