Gims added 170 beds, a new building to be ready next year

Greater Noida: The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, will add 170 beds to a capacity of 300 beds today.
This step comes to the increase in the needs of the bed faced during the covid pandemic, to facilitate special care such as knee, joint replacement, and dialysis facilities.
Extra beds will be arranged in a new building that will be built at a cost of around Rs 10-12 Crore and is expected to be ready next year.
The state government has appointed Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam Ltd (UPRNN) to attract the final plan.

RK Gupta said, “We have 300 bed facilities in the hospital.
During a pandemic, we increase the number of beds to 500 with the costs of our various departments converted to ward.

This will take our official capacity to 470 beds.

“We have space on our campus for a new environment for which funds will be given by the state government,” he said, adding that around 50-75 beds could be improved then to accommodate graduate students under MD.
“I have written to the government that describes the requirements.
After being approved, the total capacity of our bed will be more than 500,” said Dr.
Gupta.
The Institute also increases the special care of sophisticated medical conditions with new machinery and equipment.
“We have bought a new CT scan and several dialysis machines to offer services with subsidized rates.
After being upgraded, we will move towards special operations and OPD services immediately,” he added.
