Noida: The state government has been awarded the Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) to treat the maximum number of patients during the second wave of Covid.
The Cabinet of the Minister of Finance and Medical Education Suresh Khanna gave awards to the GIMS director in Lucknow.
This award came after evaluating more than 67 government and private medical colleges in categories such as the number of patients treated, research and publication, and innovation.

“With limited resources, GIMS has been able to treat more than 4,500 patients with a minimum case mortality rate throughout the state in just three years, especially during the second wave of the pandemic last year, where he experienced severe patient burden.
The Institute expanded the capacity of the place Sleep to 450-500 of 215 to accommodate more patients.
It also established the Molecular Diagnostic Research Center (BSL II Lab) and conducted more than 14.5 lakh RT PCR in GB Nagar and provided samples from the district in Uttar Pradesh, “Dr.

Covid testing laboratories operate 24 hours, and staff deployed in four-five shifts to test samples.
Gims vaccinated 2.5 lakh people, the highest in GB Nagar, and treated more than 1.5 lakh through online consultation since May 2021.
The institution also published more than 220 research papers in the last three years in the past three years.
At present, the faculty examines more than 100 subjects, including 47 covid related projects.
