Nimkar’s couple from Vadodara, who always wanted girls, completed the formality adopting Nitya on Friday.
With it being the first adoption of the city in 2021, the Collector of the Aayush Oak Regency was present on the occasion and handed over the child’s custody to his new parents.
Nimkar fell in love with Nitya at first glance.
“After we saw Nitya for the first time we immediately decided to adopt him.
We are very blessed to have it in our lives,” said Umang Nimkar, an employee of an insurance company.
Umang’s wife, Sapna, is a school teacher.
“We first signed up to adopt a child in 2011.
Later, in 2014 we registered through the child adoption portal way.
We are a close family and what we miss is a girl.
We always want girls,” added Umang.
Hemant Gamuit, Manager, Special Child Adoption Agent, told TII that Popawala VR children returned home now accommodating 11 children – seven boys and four girls – between the ages of one month to five years.
