Patna: Doctor Team Institute of Indira Gandhi Medical Sciences (IGIM) managed to carry out laparoscopic surgery at a 16-year-old girl who suffered from a chronic pancreatitis.
Patients have suffered unbearable pain, digestive weaknesses and disorders for more than six months.
After consulting with several hospitals, he finally reached IGIM.
Dr.
Manish Mandal’s medical supervisor said the three-hour operation was carried out by Dr.
Saket Kumar from the gastrosurgery department four days ago.
After staying under observation, the patient was sent back on Monday.
Such operations were previously done after a big incision in the stomach, but under the laparoscopic method, it was easier and less painful.
Another doctor in the team is Tushar Singh, Saurabh Singala, Tushar Saini and Mumtaz.
Mandal said Malnutrition was the main cause of pancreatitis in Bihar women.
