Gorakhpur: Abadi Nursery poem “line, line, your boat line” may believe in “life is only a dream”, but the gloomy reality of Sandhya Sa Sahini 15 years old now challenges the country’s boat through the river in Spate during the Monsun to reach school every day.
Viral videos from the daughter of the carpenter, dressed in school uniforms and driving Rapti’s currents in Gorakhpur-Up District, have become the symbol of the courage and the determination of the girl to continue their education on all obstacles and give her parents and three better younger siblings.
Sandhya is a class XI student at Ayodhya Das Girls’ Inter College.
Every morning, he took a boat near his house in Bahrampur and raised his way through the swollen Rapti – half a house half sank – to reach Raj Ghat, where he took the tempo to reach school.
“My school was closed for a long time because of a pandemic and now we face a challenge from Rapti.
I don’t want to miss the class further because I don’t have the privilege of personal tuition fees.
I really depend on my school for my study,” said the teenager that.
Utilet like him, Sandhya believed it was impossible for him – and all the others lived in the area – to encourage the wisdom of the rainy season of the rainy season.
“I begged CM to get the embankment built in my area because the flood had entered many homes and families forced to live on the terrace under the plastic sheet,” he said.
Sandhya, who looked for inspiration from numbers such as Sarojini Naidu, Indira Gandhi, Kalpana Chawla and PT Usha, said it hurt him to see many other students – especially girls – drop out of school because of the challenges they had to face.
“Many girls in my area don’t go to school again because of the flood, but I can’t afford to be afraid.
I aspire to work for a train, and I work hard every day to reach my destination.” As soon as he got a job and produced enough.
To meet the needs of his family, Sandhya wants to take a flight to a place with his family.
