Teenagers from Kasipallayam, a remote village is the first person in his family to attend college and is ready to fly to Chicago next year to study the degree of scholars, on full-benefit scholarships.
First generation students have received a full scholarship worth of ₹ 3 crore to pursue a four-year scholar science degree.
Born of a farmer, Swega Saminathan dreamed of conducting research to improve the country’s infrastructure.
“In Chicago, I plan to study biology and become a scientist, and enter the research,” said Swega Toi.
The girl who was studying 12th grade in the district, would join Uchicago in 2022.
Swega said he happened to listen to the founder of Global Dexterity – a national organization for leadership and career development of Sharad Sagar’s speech at school when he was 14 years old.
He stated that he heard about Uchicago only after hearing Sharad Sagar’s speech.
