Ghaziabad: Commissioner of the New Meerut Division has been seeking details of the Ghaziabad (GDA) development authority from the probe into the Housing Scam Jayanti Puram, 10 years after it was first revealed.
The meeting of the senior official schedule with authority officials was suspended on Wednesday.
“Commissioner Division Meerut Surendra Singh should meet officials about the investigation.
He visited Ghaziabad on Wednesday morning and returned from the Hindon terminal.
We expect a visit next few weeks,” said an official GDA.
GDA has launched a housing scheme in 1998, where 1,553 plots of 200sqm, 150sqm, 112sqm and 90sqm were carved and included for sale.
In the case of 139 of this plot, people failed to pay Emis payments, which lead to the cancellation of allotment.
Officials, in Convance with an intermediary dealer and property, allegedly received a cancellation plot restored between 2005 and 2007.
They lured allottees with a trivial amount and get their own land.
The plot was restored at the level of the sector that was in effect in 1998, which was between Rs 2,575 per square meter and Rs 2,820 per square meter.
But according to the law, they should have been restored for all at the level of the sector that apply at that time, i.e., between 2005 and 2007, or 75% of the market value or which is higher.
The level of the sector between 2005 and 2007 is Rs 12,000 per square meter.
This resulted in losing power in the state around Rs 3 Crore and additional Rs 30 Lakh in stamp duty.
In 2011, GMC board members then Rajendra Tyagi had submitted a petition in Allahabad HC, followed where the court directed the Commissioner of Moradabad Range to investigate this problem.
GDA also conducted an internal investigation and was charged with 37 officials, including junior engineers, assistant engineers and executive engineers under it alleged irregularities.
In December 2017, he filed a shooting against the wrong official.
This was attended by an independent investigation by Commissioner of Moradabad Range.
However, there are no actions taken on charges.
