Bhubaneswar: This center urged the Odisha government to provide five hectares of land to establish ESI Hospital in Choudwar in Cuttack Regency.
Because the construction of the State Insurance Hospital (ESI) in this city is very old and located in a protected monument from an Indian Archaeological Survey (ASI), it does not get permission for renovation.
ESI Hospital was founded in 1960.
Maintaining the age of development in mind, building structural audits were carried out by Odisha University of Technology and Research (Cov).
Based on structural audits, demolition of existing ESI hospital buildings.
However, ASI denied issuing an objection certificate to carry out renovations because hospitals were in the protected monument zone.
Then, the Odisha government has provided an alternative site, which consists of five hectares, in Kanhipur Village under Tangi-Choudwar Tehsil for new hospitals to be built.
Although this site is outside the monument zone protected by ASI, located 11 km from the existing hospital, said the Union Minister of State for Labor and Employment of Rameswar Teli, replying to the BJD MP Mahesh Sahoo question in Lok Sabha.
Teli said the Odisha government has been asked to provide land outside the ASI-protected area because most people are insured living around the hospital.
