Give RT-PCR results in 24 hours: BMC to the Lab

Mumbai: In the midst of increasing Covid-19 cases, BMC Commissioner Iqbal Chahal, in the command signed on January 1, has confirmed that the laboratory that conducts RT-PCR tests in Mumbai must ensure their turn-around time (TAT) does not exceed 24 hours and positive.

According to him, Colaba Corporator Makrand Narwekar wrote to the Head of BMC, said: “There is a high court of Bombay, Nagpur Bench, order where the pathology laboratory is directed to send RT-PCR reports on magic or hard copies immediately without waiting to upload on the ICMR portal.”
