Give us one-time Advantage Also, plead retired umpires into BCCI

MUMBAI: The BCCI received compliments from many quarters as it established a one-time retirement advantage from previous India and outstanding cricketers, by a corpus it generated from gains by the IPL.
But till today, former foreign umpires, who also were a critical part of the sport, have now been denied this advantage.
Ex-international umpires desire the BCCI to become benevolent for their own cause.
“This one-time advantage is provided in appreciation of the services to this match.
When it is not given following retirement, then if?” Wondered Piloo Reporter, who umpired from 14 Tests and 22 ODIs from 1984 to 1994, while speaking to TOI.
“It would be very greatly valued by us also get that which former players are becoming.
In case the retired gamers are receiving lakhs or even crores as a one time pay-off, what is wrong in the umpires obtaining it? We have also served the match.
We have put in more hours than those gamers.
The players can return to the pavilion after enjoying and unwind, whereas the umpire places in six and a half an hour daily at a Test, and seven hours at an ODI.
It’d be great to have our participation remembered also,” stated the 82-year-old.
“I attempted to deliver it into the BCCI’s note in earlier times but nothing came from it” he further added.
“The BCCI has given the one time advantage to over 80 former gamers, which should have become crores.
Even people who have played two Tests’ve a fantastic quantity.
We do not grudge exactly what the ex-players are becoming.
You will find barely 10-15 retired foreign umpires, therefore the Board does not have to make a enormous sum to take to people.
The advantage ought to be awarded to those who have served the match.
The price of living is about up.
The majority of us are over 80.
I am 93, Satyaji Rao (the other ex-international umpire) is 91.
The BCCI should contemplate our situation,” said Madhav Ghotaskar, that, in 1974 to 1983, umpired at 14 Tests and a ODI – that the inaugural ODI in Indiaback in 1981 between India and England in the Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Stadium at Ahmedabad.
“Possibly the stark reality is the fact that it’s the players that pull the audiences and the cash into the match.
Nobody comes to see the umpires,” rued Ghotaskar.
Since 2004, the BCCI was providing pension to the retired umpires.
Their medical costs, around Rs 5 lakhs, are reimbursed from the Board.
“I really do get a monthly pension of Rs 22,500,” revealed , who retired in 1994 at age 55.
“The retirement amount hasn’t been raised for the past five decades.
The pension amount is enough to satisfy our daily costs, but what will make us happy is really that the expansion of this one-time advantage scheme to people, or a rise in the retirement amount,” explained the 93-year-old.
