New Delhi: Welcoming the Farmers Union’s decision to suspend their protest, Union Minister Sanjeev Balyan said on Thursday that it would allow BJP to establish a poll of Uttar Pradesh assembly around the work carried out by the party government both in the country center.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha on Thursday announced the suspension of farmer protests.
Farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chudani, however, warned that if their demands were not met until January 15, they could receive a call to continue protests.
Balyan, the prominent JAT face from BJP from Uttar Pradesh, said the party’s situation would improve because the farmers returned home “satisfied with the actions of the Government of Narendra Modi”.
“This is a problem of happiness not only for me but for all of us and that they (farmers) will go home with the government’s actions,” Balyan told reporters outside the parliament.
Asked whether the central decision to revoke three controversial agricultural laws was influenced by the consideration of polls, Balyan said political parties were always worried about polls, but more importantly was that “our farmer brothers returned to Satisfied Houses”.
“BJP is in a good position and will increase now.
People in villages are used to ask us about farmer agitation.
Now we can talk about our problems and work done by the BJP government both in the center and at Uttar Pradesh, ” he says.
Besides Punjab and Haryana, farmer agitation ripples feel the greatest at Uttar Pradesh dominated by the JAT with the agrarian community there lends its support to the protest.
